Vital's Vision Academy

Vital Vision Academy is a crucial partner of Vital Vision Exploration. The Academy is focused on experiential learning with pre-k students. This program focuses on Agriculture, Horticulture, and Animal Science. We believe in teaching sustainable practices and teaching our students about the importance of these careers. The students in the program have hands-on experience in the farms and develop an interest in subjects that are no longer prevalent in lower socioeconomic areas.

Economic Mobility

Vital Vision Exploration will host culturally relevant educational events where individuals are already congregated (schools, conferences, churches, etc.), we can reach those who need the programs most- including hyper-marginalized individuals who are typically overlooked. Our program participants acquire fundamentals of financial literacy while learning to overcome the impact of historical racism on their individual, family and community economic ecosystems. Insights from this context are then used as the basis for individualized financial goal-setting and growth strategies. Furthermore, program participants will gain long-term mentoring, ongoing educational opportunities and peer-to-peer support.

 

Education 

Every child deserves an opportunity to reach their full potential. But our education systems are collapsing under inequity, and it's mostly because of poverty. Students who experience severe economic obstacles perform worse than students who have access to more wealth. To bridge these gaps and ensure that all children get a real chance at a fulfilling education, it’s our goal to address systemic racism and poverty as tangible barriers to learning and future achievement. Furthermore, We understand the importance of education programs, vocational training, workshops, and skill-building initiatives to reduce barriers and allow individuals to seek pivotal opportunities. 

 

Health and Wellness

Prioritizing health and wellness initiatives allows us to contribute to a stronger, more vibrant community by fostering healthier populations, improving productivity, reducing absenteeism, and enhancing overall quality of life. Our Health and Wellness work centers around the whole individual to ensure that we create an inclusive culture of healthy people and communities. It’s our goal to  collaborate with communities through coordinated action to improve the social determinants of health.

 

Civic Engagement 

We organize and develop collective efforts that promote advocacy as well as social and policy changes for the wellbeing of our communities. By promoting voting and fostering civic responsibility we are able to address community challenges and build an empowered community. Vital Vision’s civic engagement programs help people of color mobilize around issues that matter most to them.

 

Mentorship

Our mentorship program focuses on fostering personal and professional growth. We are able to provide youth and teens with guidance, support and opportunities for personal and professional development. Our programs are designed to create safe spaces for both boys and mentors to develop positive and healthy relationships built on honesty, consistency, and accountability.
